Producing an event in Cochabamba isn’t the same as producing one in Buenos Aires, and running access control in Guatemala adds layers that don’t exist in Argentina: time zone, venue conditions, connectivity and a local crew you’ve never seen work. What doesn’t change from one country to another is the execution standard: a protocol that travels with the operation, a crew at destination trained on that protocol and someone watching everything in real time. The operation adapts; the bar doesn’t. And it works both ways: from Argentina into the region, and from abroad into Argentina.
At SOMOS DER we operate from Buenos Aires in Argentina, Bolivia, Guatemala and Spain. This is what changes and what stays the same.
Remote operations: control from a distance
You no longer need to be physically on site to run an entrance well. We configure the system, hire and train the local crew, load the database and monitor everything in real time from Buenos Aires. How it’s set up step by step is in remote cross-border event operations.
The cases that prove it:
- FILGUA 2025, Guatemala: the International Book Fair, run over 13 days at Forum Majadas, without setting foot in Guatemala.
- Bolivia: La Chaqueñada Trío at a stadium in Cochabamba, and Il Divo in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, with four sections, each with its own rules.
- Spain: the Brainrots tour, 10 shows in five cities (Málaga, Valencia, Madrid, Seville and Zaragoza), run from Buenos Aires with a local crew in each city.
What changes by country
- The venue and its reality: a converted stadium in Cochabamba, a hotel for an intimate concert (Yalo Cuéllar), a premium arena. Each one requires adapting gates, sections and flows.
- The time zone: running Central America from Argentina means shifting the central team’s hours. We handled it at Chicago Legacy, in Guatemala.
- Connectivity: not every venue has a good network. That’s why backup connectivity travels with the operation.
- Permits and licenses: every country, and sometimes every city, has its own process and timing. Map them at the start; the list is in permits and licensing for international events in Latin America.
- The local crew: hired and trained at destination, according to our protocol.
- Logistics for branded items: anything that has to arrive identical in two countries is produced once and distributed in good time. For AWS, through an agency, we made engraved tumblers from a single batch for Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile. If you need to ship materials across borders, see shipping event materials to Latin America.
From abroad into Argentina: what the organizer brings and what’s solved at destination
The other direction is just as common: an institution, an agency or a foreign brand holding its event in Buenos Aires. The organizer brings the concept, the speakers and their standards; everything else is solved at destination.
- 5th World Congress of Asturian Communities: for the Principality of Asturias, the first edition held outside Asturias, with delegates from Asturian centers across the Americas and Europe. We handled technical production, streaming, the host and accreditation.
- FIT 2026: food production for the Dominican Republic’s stand, guest-of-honor country at the International Tourism Fair at La Rural.
- Manchester City Treble Trophy Tour: a British agency designed the experience and we executed it in Buenos Aires over 8 days.
If the congress or event is multilingual, how to calculate booths and interpreters is in simultaneous interpretation at conferences.
What doesn’t change: the standard
A single protocol that travels with the operation. Local crews trained on that protocol. One person in charge on each side and permanent central support behind them. That way, an event in Bolivia is run with the same rigor as one in Buenos Aires, and an event coming from abroad is executed to its organizer’s standards.
New markets: local partners
For a market where we don’t operate yet, we work with a network of local partners and keep central production direction. What has to be put in writing with a partner at destination, from payment milestones to the decision date, is in event operating partner in Argentina. And the country pages, such as Chile, Uruguay or Peru, explain what can be done in each one.
