The World Congress of Asturian Communities brings together the Asturian centres around the world, and its fifth edition, under the motto «AsturiEs Plural», was the first ever held outside Asturias. It took place on 7 and 8 October 2026 in the Alejandro Casona hall of the Centro Asturiano de Buenos Aires, with around 100 delegates from 35 centres: 20 from the Americas, 14 from Spain and 1 from the rest of Europe. Buenos Aires was chosen for the weight of the Asturian community in Argentina, with some 38,000 emigrants and descendants and 14 Asturian centres. The organising committee was chaired by Gimena Llamedo, Vice President of the Principality of Asturias; the themes were generational renewal, the passing-on of Asturian culture and the economic projection of Asturias, and the congress closed with a working assembly that debated and voted on its conclusions. For the Principality of Asturias, DER handled the technical production of both days (sound, conference system, LED screen, lighting, stage and room technicians), the streaming of the open sessions, the host and the accreditation on PASE, our own platform.

01

Sound and conference system

Gooseneck microphones on the speakers’ table, wireless mics for contributions from the floor and room technicians across both days. In a congress that ends in an assembly with a vote, every delegate who takes the floor has to be heard. The build was done the day before, so the congress started with everything tested.

02

LED screen and stage

A 4 × 2 metre LED screen, lighting and stage furniture. During the site visit, the riser was adjusted to the level difference the hall already had.

03

Streaming of the open sessions

The open sessions were streamed live so they could be followed outside the hall, with dedicated transmission equipment and a fixed camera run by the same technical crew as the room.

04

One host for both days

The host led the congress with a script in blocks, worked out beforehand with the organisers and adjusted on the morning of the second day.

05

Accreditation on PASE

The delegate list was loaded into PASE and accreditation took place at the entrance on the first day. On the second, only people arriving for the first time were accredited.

06

A single coordination

Sound, image, streaming, host and accreditation were under a single DER coordination, with one person responsible for the whole technical side of both days.

This event ran on PASE, our QR accreditation platform: registration, badges, door control and the final report in a single system.

When a congress leaves its home country for the first time and closes with a vote, the hall has to work as it would at home: every delegate heard, in the room and on the stream.
